This stern lantern is solid brass and electrically powered.The picture shows how much magnification the Fresnel lens produces.I have seen these used as house hold lamps with 110V power or used as patio lights.It takes a beautiful polish.The catch on rear door requires repair, other than that and a couple of shallow dents, it is in good condition.The dimensions are 11" H x 9 1/2" W x 7" D. |

Another LARGE navigation lantern,this one a bow or stern light. A large pair of brass,gas fired port and starboard navigation lamps made by Perkins Marine Mfg of Brooklyn NY. These are mates to the bow or stern lamp listed separately.Well made and in very good condition save for two cracks in the red Fresnel glass lens.These lanterns are originally from a
"Laker" a steel cargo ship used on the Great Lakes and which were brought out to B.C. to be used as log barges.Only one barge made it after a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and these lamps are from it. |
